Did you know that Nepal has 238,920 registered companies with an authorized capital of Rs 30,053 Kharba. Surprisingly, this authorized capital is about 800 times the country's gross domestic product, which is 37.67 Kharba according to the Central Statistics Office.
Among the provinces, Bagmati has the highest number of registered companies 1,71,400.
Of the total registered companies in Nepal, 233,214 are private limited, and 1,608 are public limited companies. There are also 2,947 non-profit companies and 320 foreign companies.
The private limited companies have a total of 636,781 shareholders, while non-profit companies have 19,494 share members.
